What is a passive candidate? 

A passive candidate is someone who isn't actively looking for a new job. Passive candidates are generally happy in their current employment however could be convinced to apply for a vacancy if it meets their aspirations / needs on several levels. These skilled workers can also be identified and targeted through head hunting tactics. 

How can I attract more passive candidates?  

  • Alter your content to better align to the passive candidate pool.
  • Advertise your employer brand on social media channels such as Facebook and Linkedin. 
  • Rather than focus on those looking for a job, focus on the available skillset of your clientele and how that could align with your company needs. 
  • Promote yourself not as a recruiter, but as a specialist in your sector and try to get a sense of what they might be looking for.
